Akbar Muhammad, renowned lecturer on the history of the Nation of Islam., and world traveler has visited over 137 countries including 37 African Nations and has lived in Ghana, Africa for more then 12 years. Mr. Muhammad spends most of his time encouraging others to travel, work and do business in Africa. Over the years, Mr. Muhammad has accompanied and arranged travel to Africa for more then 3600 experienced and first time travelers including notable celebrities, major sports figures and influential leaders.
He has developed a special interest in taking young people to Africa. He states "I have lived in Africa for more then 12 years and I am committed to the idea that taking young people to Africa can make a difference in their lives”. Recently Mr. Muhammad founded Youth4Africa Foundation (YAF), a non-profit organization built upon the belief that Young Blacks in the Diaspora are due a personal journey “Back to Africa” to gain a historical perspective that connects past “Lost” cultural traditions to present “Life” choices for the purpose of developing understanding, inspiring fundamental discussions and shaping positive self-images.
